The Intelligent Network Gateway is a distributed, automated and event-driven solution for the mangement of all external communications.Principle applications of the gateway solution are in EDI/ ElectronicCommerce, EFT, Corporate Cash Management Services and Financial EDI.The key feature of the Intelligent Network Gateway is its support formailboxing, scheduling, data formatting, editing and translation and avariety of communications protocols that include:-BSC 2780/3780/2968 -TCP/IP with FTP-SNA 3770 or LU 6.2 -X.25-OSI X.400 -Async Xmodem,Ymodem, Zmodem, Kermit-OST FTAMWhen utilized with the Sun(TM) host utilizing the Netbridge component andEthernet, files received from remote endpoints outside the TCP/IPnetwork, with any of the protocols listed, are routed to the sun host orany other node in the TCP/IP network.Files originating on the Sun(TM) host or any other system in the TCP/IPnetwork are routed through the Intelligent Network Gateway anddistributed to remote endpoints using any of the protocols listed.With its powerful communications, the Intelligent Network Gateway managesthe traffic between many remote endpoints, with a variety of protocols,and a single or multiple host processing environment. It also functionsas an intelligent network bridge between LANs, or as an intelligentrouter between multiple X.25 networks.Netbridge is an automated FTP transmission facility that features an OSF-compliant Motif Graphical User Interface. The GUI presents an intuitive,easy-to-use mechanism for constructing and maintaining a list of remotehost FTP configuration profiles. On-demand configuration reload allowsan adminstrator to dynamically reconfigure the Netbridge daemon with thepush of a button. The Netbridge daemon is the background 'entity'handling the system and network interface duties; including intelligentrouting identification and the actual FTP transmission.
